Richard Cory Theme and Tone

Tone: the authors attitude towards the subject, character, or audience

 The theme in Richard Cory poem is about this guy that everyone looks up to and think hes the the best guy but people didn't really know him and  he wasn't happy with himself or wasn't OK and ends up killing himself.

The tone in Richard Cory poem for me was like nice good vibe but at the end is more of a sad vibe.

INSIDE OUT

Are both Prufrock and Gatsby different in the inside? Prufrock feels lonely and just wants to feel loved, to love someone. He feels like he has no one even though he has seen different people.  Now Gatsby, he is very lonely and he is in love, all he wants is to get the love of his life back, to go back to how things were before he left to war. For me he is too obsessed with Daisy. The way they feel in the inside is different from the way others see them and think of them. People think Prufrock is okay and there might be nothing wrong with him. People see Gatsby as a very rich man who knows a lot of people and has lots of friends. That hes happy for what he has and people he might know.  People wouldn't think hes lonely in the inside. Personally, I know people who try to act like someone else on the outside but in the inside they are this other person who's not okay, who feels alone and sad. Lot of people do that for many reasons, we all sometimes appear as something else on
